This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[Useful, maybe. But he wouldn't purposefully injure someone unless they have really done something against someone he cares about. Then, well, he wouldn't hesitate to protect those he cares about.]

[Vriska tends to hurt people just for the sake of hurting them but she won't do anything drastic unless it's to protect someone. So she can understand that much.]

Oh really? And what's so interesting about freaky me?

[You pretend to be much more secure than you really are, but in reality you're lonely.]

[She frowns and for a moment she wants to hit him but instead takes a deep breath.]

Am I really that transparent?

[he shakes his head no, he just knows what it's like to hide, and he knows what it's like to put on an arrogant front while you still care so much about what others think.]

Good. [She stretches and grins at Merlin.]

I will make sure the world knows that you really are just that arrogant. [he lets out a small relieved laugh, worried that this conversation was going to become even more emotional]

Even better. [Vriska tries to avoid conversations being too emotional if she can help it. So she's just as relieved.]

I think you're going to make an excellent partner in crime, Merlin.

I do not remember agreeing to that.

Too late, it's done.

[he looks as if he's seriously considering the offer] Well someone needs to keep you in line, I guess. I have years of experience in my CV.

Keep me in line? [She looks offended.]

Yup, can't have you scaring all the children away.

You just wanna kill my fun. Fun killer.

You've found me out, I've been hired by the school to make sure you never have any fun. How am I doing so far?

[She narrows her eye and stares at him for a few moments.] Not a very good job!

So you think I'm fun?

[bright smile!]

I only said a little. [She holds up a hand and holds her thumb and forefinger barely apart.]

You're lying, it's at least this much. [he holds his thumb and forefinger a good two inches apart]

[She shakes her head as she reaches over and attempts to force his fingers closer together.]

[he laughs as he tries to get his hands out of her reach]

You won't lessen this friendship.

[She tries a few more times before stopping.]

Nuuhuh! It's not a friendship it's a partnership.

Partnership, friendship, it's the same thing.
