This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[except when he is, and he's usually told about those times in great detail. he's not exactly sure why he's friends with Arthur]

[then again, Morgana would probably love her and they would terrorize everyone together, and if Arthur was here he'd have bigger things to worry about than him and Vriska deciding he's an idiot. he flinches a bit at the thought]

[She doesn't bother to ask why since his mind tells her almost immediately. She laughs and shakes her head.] I think everyone's an idiot until proven otherwise. You, you aren't an idiot.

[he's genuinely startled by that] Well you're the first to think so.

It's all there in your head. Which, by the way, you really need to work on your defense. Plus I don't think an idiot would figure me out so quickly.

I'm a good judge of people is all. [he dismisses her claim of his intelligence, even if he is rather smart (remember that medical knowledge he ran through earlier? idiots don't know things like that)]

Is my mind really that easy to read?

I've had little difficulty this whole time. It might be because you lack defense or it might be because you're relax and letting me in. Either way it's not safe.

Eh, I don't think you can do much with what you've learned about me during this conversation. I'm not worried.

That's only because it's the surface stuff I've been nabbing. But if that's as easy to grab as it's been the stuff below it likely isn't that hard to get into either. And I'm not the only telepath around.

Try and find something deeper then.

[he tries to blank out his thoughts]

[She sighs and focuses on him, digging deeper than just the surface if she can. She can tell he's trying to not think but that's the problem. Trying not to think still end up with one thinking.]

[Even his deeper thoughts are pretty basic. He hopes that his mother is okay without him, he worries that without him she won't be able to make ends meet or that neighbors will find out she has a mutant son and run her out of town. He worries that Gaius will fall ill and no one will know how to contact him to tell him. He worries that Arthur and Gwen and Lance and Morgana and everyone will hate him for being a mutant. He worries a lot about how people perceive mutants.]

[Vriska stops after a few moments and shakes her head to clear it before putting her walls back up.]

Worry, worry, worry. Geez.

[sheepish smile] Sorry, can't help it.

[She starts to argue that but it's quite obvious he can't.] Anyway, point proven. You need to work on your defenses.

Or I can overwhelm my opponents with crippling doubt.
