This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.
Sango | Inuyasha
She wasn't much for the weight training anymore, given her ability, but there was still plenty for her to do in the gymnasium. Sports were always fun, after all.
Currently, she was practicing her three-pointers. But not from the three-point line. That would be too easy. No, she was clear on the other side of the court, next to the ball rack. She gaged the location of the hoop, and let the ball free.
Said ball sailed over the expanse of the court . . . and bounced off the rim. Oh, well. So her aim wasn't perfect yet. That was something to work on.
[Intranet Video]
[Here, network: have an offended Sango trying to hold in her temper. Considering how much she's scowling, she may not be having a lot of success.]
I'd really prefer to get a new lab partner for chem class. I'm going to wind up killing my current excuse of one if he keeps hitting on me. If anybody else needs a partner, please step up; I can't deal with this guy anymore.

With a groan the dark haired girl pulled herself and looked around the gym. She watched as Sango's shot bounced off the rim and couldn't help but clap.
"Damn close!" she called down from her perch.
no subject
"Yeah, I'm getting better at this distance. Getting it far enough isn't an issue; just need to work on my aim a bit."
Sango was a good shot, in general. Just not a perfect one; it wasn't anything she couldn't work on, and she of anyone didn't mind hard work.
"Did you just come in here? Sorry I didn't notice; I was a bit in the zone."
no subject
She did the same with another ball as she stood and began to make her way down the bleachers. "The aim is always the hardest part." She squinted over at the far hoop and attempted to send one of the balls through it without actually guiding it through the hoop.
She missed by at least a foot.

Why would anyone even try to sleep in the gym? It was a place that was bound to get noisy or crowded or both. She'd seen people having naps on the roof, or in the nearby woods, and she could at least see some sense in that. Her mind was having difficulty trying to compute this one.
She would have apologized for disturbing the girl, but she watched with interest as her powers were displayed. Sure, she missed by quite a margin, but that was still impressive, in Sango's mind.
"Oh, you're telekinetic? That's always seemed like such a useful power, to me."
no subject
She squinted across the court and sent the ball flying again. This time it hit the backboard and bounced to the ground, causing her to scowl.
"It's pretty useful. What's your power?"
no subject
"Nothing flashy, honestly. Enhanced strength and endurance. Bit of an accelerated healing factor."
She'd never been one to wish that her power was something more visually impressive. Her ability could get the job done. What more did she need than that?
no subject
"Definitely useful." Sure she could, seemingly, increase her strength and endurance but it's wasn't something natural. "Always wished I had healing. Can't tell you how many times that would have come in handy."
no subject
Her look softened into something more thoughtful at those words. For an advanced healing factor to be considered so handy . . . that had to be rough.
"Pretty dangerous where you came from?"

Lucky for just general stupidity. I'm about ready to piledrive the lech I'm working with at the moment. [This, sadly, is not hyperbole.]
Anyway, I take chem pretty seriously, and it's one of my better classes. You wouldn't have to worry about stupidity from me.

So, we both meet with the professor, I guess? To make the switch?
no subject
Yeah. If we could get it done before the next lab assignment, that'd be for the best. And I suppose that would leave our two problem people being forced to team up. Can't say that I'm sorry about it.
[Quite the contrary, actually. She sounds a little amused.]

ahhhh a Sango!! <3
Kagome happened to be wandering through when she spotted Sango. She'd stayed quiet through the shot, not wanting to startle her friend, but the other girl did deserve praise for the attempt.
It's very tentative; haven't read/watched the series in a while. :)
A smile did cross her lips at the praise, though. It was always nice to hear, and Kagome always meant it. "Thanks. Just a bit more practice, and I think I'll get it."
[Text] I apoligize for everything
Pffft (And she's keeping it video)
Um . . . I'm sorry?
[Another blink.] Why do stuffed animals need a trigger warning?
[Intranet]
Ah... your parter's name wouldn't happen to be Fai, would it? If it is, I'm really very sorry for his behaviour. And if not, well you probably should accept him as a parter if he shouldn't volunteer.
I'm afraid I'm not very good with chemistry myself. He is but... well... flirting is sort of his default so he'll probably do it without even trying to.
