This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

Kenzi was the type of girl that's always on the move. Mostly because her busy hands couldn't help but pick something up and take off with it. Today is just such a day. Her haul so far was a few pens that caught her interest, someone's cellphone (although she wasn't entirely sure why she even took that one, she'd have to return it later), a few bucks and some spare change. Not the best but what could you do in a school?
She made her way for the kitchen, snagging an apple with her telekinesis on her way through. Although she was much more focused on eating it than where she was going.

Gotta say this school is pretty awesome. Y'know as awesome as a school gets. Which, in reality, isn't all that awesome.
Although some of you peeps are pretty schway. I've honestly never been in a place with so many other mutants. Kinda nice not having to worry about using my powers.
Anywaaaaay, I'm Kenzi and I am so not goth despite my penchant for dark clothing.

And I said it because I get tired of hearing it. Simple as that.

Wow, we're already up to whore. Completely bipassed bitch and went straight to whore.
Listen here, honey. I'm not a whore. I was just nipping the goth taunts in the bud while I had the chance.

But she had other places to be and she was rather focused on eating, too. From an outsider's perspective, the inevitable collision (and the cake suddenly becoming smeared all over Ayaka's face as a result) looked to be more Ayaka's fault than Kenzi's.
"Y-you...!" Ayaka stammered angrily, "How dare you!"
Clearly, she blamed everything on Kenzi.
no subject
"How is this my fault?" She brought it back up to her mouth and took a bite out of it as she eyed the other girl. "Pretty sure it isn't." said with a mouthful of apple.
Maybe it was, in either case she really did care.
no subject
"Because... because of this!" Ayaka said, wiping some cake off her face for emphasis.
... for a second, it looked like she was going to eat the cake off her hand, but she just shook it off instead.
"And nothing happened to your food..." she noticed, "You did this on purpose, didn't you?!"
It made sense to her, anyway. Then again, she was clearly not thinking logically.
no subject
Yup, not good.
She let out a baffled and irritated noise as she stared down at the cake on her shirt. "This! This is my favourite shirt!" She tossed her apple aside and proceeded to roll up her sleeves. "If you're going to blame me for something that isn't my fault I'm going to do something that you can blame me for."
What that something was she wasn't sure. Yet.
no subject
"Well, this was one of my favorite shirts!" Ayaka snapped back, "Which, undoubtedly, was more expensive than yours and better made!"
There was no shirt sleeve rolling on her end, no...
... instead, Ayaka assumed what was clearly a practiced martial arts stance.

She smirked and lifted up a couple inches into the air. "Well, if it's a fight you want, you'll have to catch me first." With that she quickly floated back and around the counter, heading for the door to go outside.
no subject
"Coward!"
Ayaka started forward rather quickly, obviously intending to pursue. She was surprisingly fast, though not quite superhumanly so.
She still had her plate in hand, and she intended to use it as a projectile once she got a clear shot.
no subject
"No such thing as a coward! Just people smart enough to run away." She laughed as she slipped through the door. Once outside she remained close to the ground, she was actually pretty curious to see what the girl was going to do.
And hey, could she really get in trouble if she didn't dish out the first blow?

[prose]
At the moment, the kid was trying to put as much distance between herself and the charred remains, vaulting around a corner, into the kitchen and... straight into Kenzi.
"Sorry, sorry! Didn't see you!" She said hurriedly, raising hands in a surrender motion. "And if anyone asks, you didn't see me either."
no subject
"Holy crapballs, where's the fire?" She raised a hand to rub the back of her head. Good thing she was so hardheaded or that would have hurt more.
no subject
Margot looked alarmed. "Fire? Fire?! Ahaha, there is no fire! None at all, ahahah..." Not that there wasn't plenty of other kids with pyrokinesis in the school to pin the deed on, but damn she was not getting in trouble for that crap.
no subject
The other girl's reaction gets of a raised eyebrow. "Uh huh." A slow grin spreads across her lips. "I'm going to wild stab in the dark here and assume you, accidentally or otherwise, set fire to something you shouldn't have."
no subject
"It was just a little fire. One some papers. Maybe inside."
no subject
"In any case, why are you running if it was just some papers?"
no subject
Not that running would really do any good, but it seemed like a better idea than jumping out the window at the time.

Maybe her roommate had time to redo it. How hard could it be to rewrite the report? She wrote it once so it shouldn't be difficult. Also, who doesn't do their reports on the computer these days?
