This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

[Kenzi flips on the video and waves at the camera. She turns and looks around the room for something to show off with. Oh hey, books will do.

She turns the camera toward a stack of books which immediately float up into the air and began flapping around like they're birds.]

Kenzi gave a shrug as she sent a couple balls up into the air where they started doing figure eights. "You could say that."

Parents? [She stresses the s at the end, a little confused by the question. She was supposed to have more than one parent? Her father's father was probably the closest thing to another parent, but she didn't really consider him secondary father or whatever. Isao had been kind of a jerk, anyway.]

I only have one parent. It was... nice. He gives me everything that I want, and all he used to want from me was to train and defeat his enemies.

Up until he sent me here, anyway.

[ For such a big and loud presence on campus, Yuugi is being kind of quiet at the moment. Seated on a bench outdoors, her bag open beside her, she has a rag in hand as she commences polishing her horn.

—that isn't a euphemism, guys. She is literally polishing that big, red, 10" unicorn-like protrusion from her forehead. Get your minds outta the gutter. :| ]

[ Prose ]

"Wow, that's a really cute dress!" Yuugi exclaimed. Either it was to the girl at the party that she was just macking on chatting with, or about one that passed by as she was talking to someone else entirely.

Or maybe she just announced it, loudly, for everyone in the immediate area to hear. It's your call. She's had a few drinks at this shindig already, which is about what the average high school kid would already be shitface by, and she's just a bit tipsy. Not that she keeps her trap shut even when she's sober.

She sighs wistfully, leaning back against the doorway that she's totally blocking. Six-foot-five and built like a brick wall means that, occasionally, she emulates such a structure without meaning. There's no way you're getting in or out without poking her. "Ahh, I haven't worn a dress like that in so long..."

[Okay, yes, Aschka is fairly used to seeing weird things. After all she is a fish (shark) girl. But polishing horn? Yeah that ranks up there on the weird meter.

Not that it stops her from bouncing over to settle on the other end of the bench.]

[She does an admirable job of grabbing hold of Ayaka's foot, the visible spiders promptly scurrying out of the way, under the collar and cuffs of her shirt or into her hair. At the moment, at least, Yamame is more surprised than angry or upset.]

[His jaw drops in disbelief and rolls his eyes with a scoff. Sou's voice is deadpan, he leans over his desk with a groan.]

You're kidding me. You mean I have to deal with someone that's going to use subpar products that I'll have to spend hours scrubbing off? That's just...that's GROSS!

"It's something SHUT UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE!" Parsee snapped, trying desperately to hide the book she had.

"I didn't ask your name. Just who you were. If you know what's good for you, you'll fuck off." Parsee spat, going back to her hammering. Closed off, to say the least... and generally putting on an air far more threatening than a girl her size should be capable of.

... She did it. She really did it. The entire time, Parsee sat there, slack-jawed and red as a beat. Yuugi went and said it. Out loud. Where everyone could hear. And there was no confusion as to who he was talking about. She... she...

"Wow, you're really touchy today," she said, not sounding the least bit surprised or bothered. Really, her tone made it sound more like a comment on the weather than anything. She stopped trying to peek at the book quite so blatantly, though she didn't straighten up at all, leaving her in an odd position where she half-hung off the top of the bookshelf. "Is it really that embarrassing?"

To be honest, I'm not fond of the idea, but it's hard to plan for a worst case scenario when so many people are clamoring for some sort of solution. Registration might not be it. Especially with a lack of mutant representation in government. But no one seems to be presenting other solutions.

[She turns the camera back to herself and grins.] You guess? Man you must have some epic powers then.
