This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[Uh oh...That voice only meant one thing and that wasn't good for her hopes of not getting busted on this. Her ears folded flat against her head as she tried to make herself as small as possible, in the hopes of maybe she had not been...Who was she kidding. She was Busted with a capital B.

She gathered her things and put them back into her bag. She was stuck so why not have a little fun. She grins a little bit and bats at the skirt and pulls herself backwards a bit, a giggle escaping her as she did so.]

[ Yukari swung her legs gently, seemingly unaware of what was going on with the fabric of her dress. ] I hope I find her soon. It would be a shame to let a gift go to waste like this.

[Ears perked, Chen thought on this as she again batted at the skirt a few more times. After a moment she came to a decision and let out a bit of a sigh. Her curiosity was getting the better of her this time.

Moving to the side a bit, she moves to poke her head out from under the table, sounding as curious as ever.]

Who are you looking for?

[ Did something disappear from her hand the instant Chen's face came into view? Couldn't have been. The woman is also not looking down just yet, still kicking her legs. ] Someone who should have been in class, but when I went to surprise her she was absent! What bad timing on my part...

Maybe she had a reason to be absent..Like she was sick or they were doing something yucky?

[She comes all the way out and stands, hands held behind her back at least looking sheepish about this. Even if it wasn't her.]

Perhaps, but is that not squandering what they came here to accomplish? [ It's here that she slowly faces Chen, a knowing smile on her face. ] She did not look ill to me, the last I saw her.

[Ears flat against her head and tails being completely still, Chen frowns.]

But they were swimming today....I didn't want to be near the water.

[She looks down at the ground, looking a bit sad.]

I'm sorry Mom...

...ah, I see. [ It isn't often that Yukari's carefree demeanor breaks like that. In her rush to get Chen settled, it seems she neglected something.

She reaches her hand down under the girl's chin to pull her face up. When she meets those eyes, it's her own smile that's somewhat sheepish. ] That would be my fault, dear. I neglected to file that tidbit of information with the gym teacher.

[ She pats her lap. ] I will make sure they understand why you were absent, and will not hold it against you.

[A small smile appears and the ears relax from her head a bit]

It's okay...Everyone forgets things sometimes even the best people in the entire world.

[She puts her bag down on a chair and slowly but nimbly climbs up and into Yukari's lap.]

I guess I should have said something first instead of hiding here and not going...but I was doing class work!

Indeed they do. [ Yukari isn't quite sure if she's included in that comment about the "best people", but she'll smile as if she took it that way.

She brings the girl in close and hums thoughtfully. ] It is good that you were productive. How are you liking the school so far?
