This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[ You can't blame her, Fai is pretty and she does have a bit of a thing for blondes.

Her English is good but the French accent is still obvious. ]

Julie d'Aubigny. And who might you be?

[Oh lord, the stranger has an accent on top of the opera voice, and just kissed his hand, allow him to gently swoon. Except he won't, but he'll kiss her hand in stead and grin.]

Fai Flourite, and I am very glad to have finally encountered my saviour in that case. Will you sweep me away from this drab everyday existence, Julie?

[ Too bad, she would have enjoyed catching him. But the kiss is nice too. ]

I would consider it an honor and a privilege. Are you aware that the people here have no idea how to make coffee?

[ No, it is not an abrupt change of subject, it is in fact a very relevant question. Drab coffee makes drab everyday existence even more drab. ]

[That just makes him laugh, because personally he find that to be a perfectly logical leap.]

So my brother keeps telling me. In very expressive Italian, usually while gesturing in the most offended manner possible at whatever coffee it is that has irked him in the first place. Personally I am not allowed to drink coffee. It makes me jittery.

Does your brother look anything like you?

[ Another perfectly relevant question that has everything to do with the subject at hand. ]

[That, instead, makes him giggle and lower his eyelashes demurely.]

Well, actually he's my identical twin. And I feel a little bit dirty for telling you that, can you imagine?

[ Delivered with a shamelessly saucy grin. ]

I mi~ight be. A little. I am only human, after all. [He grins back, because how can you help loving someone like this?] We are terrible and we should feel terrible, you know.

If I'm not doing something it's probably not worth doing, and I'm not feeling terrible so I wouldn't bother with it if I were you.

[ Some would say she's more annoying than lovable, actually, but she's on Fai's side in this. ]

...you know what, you're perfectly right. I'm feeling great right now. And you look like someone who it would be a crime not to treat to chocolate croissants, am I right?

[See, he can do the logical jumps in conversation thing too.]

[ Clearly they are destined to get along famously! ]

You are, in fact, entirely correct. It would be a crime, and one I would have to punish you for rather severely should you commit it.

...is it bad that you saying that almost makes me want to commit such a crime, huh?

[He makes a gesture as if he's going to offer her his arm, then thinks better of it, and instead extends his hand in an expectation of her offering her arm.]

Shall we?

[ And said arm is indeed offered. ]

I do think we shall, and don't worry, I wouldn't like you if you weren't the type to misbehave so I'm sure I'll find something else to punish you for without it costing me a croissant.

[And daintily accepted, and he'll just very subtly lead the way.]

Now that sounds like something I could get behind, if you pardon the oh-so-sordid expression. [He giggles, because he's terrible like that.]

You must, of course, tell me all about what other things you get behind, darling.

[ And yes, she meant that exactly the way it came off as. ]

Oh, I think I could do that, although admittedly some of those things are only in the planning stage. Rome wasn't built and so on, and so forth.

[He waves a ~~limp wrist~~ hand distractedly, smirking.]

The planning can be fun as well, though I will admit to being rather impatient.

You are going to be a terrible influence, I can already tell. My patience didn't need more "im" than it already has, you know, my dear~.

It's the only influence I'm any good at being, but on the other hand I really am very good at it.
