This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[He leans back in the same manner and tips his chin upward slightly.]

The forms are different than before. Yes, I'll stay. What are your questions?

[He pulls out his cellphone and checks a message with a slight scowl then slips it back into his pocket.]

I have time.

[they may have very different backgrounds but he understands]

[he turns to her with the barest hint of a smile]

Fangs too? I'm expecting a tail next?

[if it wasn't impolite to just lean over and check out a girl's ass, he would so be doing that]

You sure you don't have another date you should be getting ready for? [She tilts her head a bit, raising a brow.]

[She gives an amused huff and shakes her head.] No. But I did have horns.

No, no. I'm fine. It was just a status message on a project at the office. Nothing that can't be handled without me, that I'm aware of. It's a bit behind schedule.

[Aside from that, he didn't have many in the school that would understand his way of doing things that have often been misinterpreted.]

Ah. I didn't have any questions actually. But it would be nice if you could look over what I've done and make sure I didn't miss anything. [She pulls the small stack of papers from her case and holds them out to him.]

[he laughs and just pictures her with reindeer antlers]

[She reaches over and smacks him in the back of the head.]

I don't really remember what they looked like but I know it wasn't that.

I would be happy to.

[He reaches out for the forms and turns them so he can read them. He raises one knee to rest the stack in his lap as he reads them with a CEO's precision.

One after the other, he flips the pages over and double checks one line that he thought appears strange but then moves on to the next line, thankful that it's his interpretation that seems a little wonky and not the presented text.]

[She leans against the tree and patiently watches him. The whole time she remains focused on his body language and facial expressions as it trying to pick him apart.]

[He gave no sign of distress or uneasiness in the least. Despite his own challenges that he faces with a future queen of Genosha that had a heavy destiny upon her shoulders, he didn't seem bothered in the least that Arcee is looking right at him.

Ever present cool on the exterior, under the surface lies a man in the throes of a storm of doubt and remorse walking on the razor's edge and caught in the middle of something very large.

Once he finished his reading, he hands the documents over and tilts his chin slightly upward.]

Everything seems in order. As always, you leave no detail spared.

[he shakes his head and laughs louder]

They totally were.

[She takes the papers back and puts them back in her case.] Thank you.

Were not! If I had pictures to prove otherwise I would show you but I know for a fucking fact they weren't reindeer antlers!

[He stands up after his work is completed and figures that it's better to let things be for now. Time didn't matter much for him anymore. He needs to decompress for a bit.]

I'll see you at seven-thirty.

Only because they didn't finish growing! Babies can't lift their head and full reindeer antlers.

[She nods and rests back against the tree. Time to catch a few z's like she was going to do before he found her.]

See you then.

They weren't antlers! And they weren't going to become antlers!

[He bows at the waist very similar to a fencer and smiles.]

[He turns to leave and with that, there's that whole sense of dread that washes over him and it's not because of seeing Arcee again, it's everything else.]

[he wants to say that she doesn't know that, but there must be a reason why she used to have horns and now she doesn't, so he doesn't push that anymore]

Bull horns? Ram horns? Devil horns?

I don't remember okay. [They were cut off by anti-mutant assholes. But since he's not outright asking she's not saying.]

They probably would have been awesome, but maybe it's better you don't have them, makes you less of a target. [there's a sad note to that]

[There's a bit of a glare directed at him.] Probably.

[he tries give her a reassuring smile, and if that doesn't work he recalls all the times Arthur has hit him for saying something dumb or at the wrong time]

[Vriska would do the same, only she would do it even if was only something he's thinking. And right now she kind of has to laugh.]
