This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[Maybe he worries to much but your best friend's father didn't lead the anti-mutant campaign in your city]

My worries are completely justified.

Justified or not you should just say fuck the haters. You can't help what you were born as.

I'd rather not get killed for who I am.
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ Yeah I'm gonna let it slide)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Another eyeroll as she snuffs out her cig.] At least you're able to hide it. It's just your eyes. I have to go to great lengths to cover up if I want to go out.
loyalservant: (are you serious)

[personal profile] loyalservant 2012-11-04 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Can't you just go into people's minds and make them think that you look differently?
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ 8ut I am a queen understand)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
[She shrugs as she pulls out a thing of mints, popping on in her mouth before offering it Merlin.] I've never tried. It's possible but I have hard enough time doing the whole mental pushing things as is.

[he takes one and nods in thanks]

Just one more thing in the never ending list of things to practice then. It's what we're here for.
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ Like it's your last chance)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Knowing my luck I'd melt the person's brain. [She gives a little laugh and tucks the tin of mints away.]

[he just laughs back, not too sure how to respond to that, he's not sure how one actually practices mind control.]
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ Yeah I'm gonna let it slide)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Very carefully at usually under the watchful eye of another teacher. Which is no fun in her book.]

So, where exactly are you from and how did you end up here?

[personal profile] loyalservant 2012-11-04 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
I'm from a small town in England that no one has ever heard of, I could move things since before I could speak and while my town wasn't extremely anti-mutant, I hid my abilities. When mum found out that my best friend Will knew about my powers she panicked and sent me to the city [which was nicknamed Camelot and boy did he get grief over that] to study with one of her old friends. The city was extremely anti-mutant. Gaius realized what I was doing wasn't telekinesis but what he called molecular kinesis and thought I could get more help here. So here I am.

[normally he wouldn't have just given that all away so easily, but she asked and he started thinking about it so it was easier to just tell her]

You?
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ We're left to sit and wonder)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
[She couldn't help but snicker.] I see.

[She fell silent for a few moments as she tried to decide just how much to tell.] Bangladesh, lived there until I was eight and then a really nice man took me away and brought me here. Well, to the area, not the school. But he died and then I ended up here.

[he doesn't blame her for not giving a lot away]

Sorry for your loss.
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ We know who we are)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
[They'd be there a while if she told him everything. So the short version that doesn't involve all the gory details is best.

She shrugs.
]

Everyone dies eventually.
loyalservant: (sadly waits)

[personal profile] loyalservant 2012-11-04 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
That doesn't make it easier.
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ Regrets collect like old friends)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe not. But when you see people die more often than anyone probably should you get used to it.

That explains it, then. I've seen several students come and go in the time I've been here.

[The bird sounded like he'd been there for twenty years. He soon realized the blonde boy had a familiar accent.]

...So what part of Britain are you from?
twowords: (1)

[personal profile] twowords 2012-11-04 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
I-[Sigh] I'm wasting my time, aren't I? [He pauses, as if listening to someone] Just as a heads up though, you've got a 70% risk of lung cancer in the next twenty years.

[He adopts the look of a teenage boy whose pride has been offended.] Hey, I'll have you know in the last six months alone I fought a giant naked storm giant, and I have top scores on X-Box live. I'm plenty interesting!
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ Smells like somthing I've forgotten)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, guess what? I don't give a fuck. I probably won't live that long anyway.

[She stares at him for a moment in silence before shaking her head.] That doesn't change the fact that I think you're a bore.
twowords: (4)

[personal profile] twowords 2012-11-04 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
[He's flattered, really. He loves having strange girls staring at him creepily, as if trying to find the best cuts of meat to slice off. The AI screaming threat warnings in his head is particularly charming]

Um, Hola? Can I help you? Presuming it doesn't involve my kidneys]
twowords: (4)

[personal profile] twowords 2012-11-04 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
That's not really a productive way to think about the future. [It's hard to tell if he's being serious, though he does seem legitimately concerned]

[He deflates] Clearly we're working with very different standards here.
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ Yeah I'm gonna let it slide)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? Because I think it is. It means I live my life fully.

[She rolls her eye.] For the record, I was trying to troll you before and you were deflecting everything. Thus, boring.

[personal profile] twowords 2012-11-04 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes that's just a way of, [Stops himself] er, sorry, probably none of my business.

Ah, yeah, I get that a lot from my friends. I could go back and pretend to be freaked out if you'd like, but I think moving cross country to go to a school for people with super powers has me running empty on shock.
wickedwe8weweave: (♏ We know who we are)

[personal profile] wickedwe8weweave 2012-11-04 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
[She raises a brow.] No you started talking so lets here it. [She really hates not being able to read his mind.

She shakes her head.
] Forget it. Too late now.

I was just going to say, a lot of times people seem to use that argument so they don't have to take care of themselves. Usually because they don't feel like there's anything to live a long time for. [He's seen it, in the criminals he fought in El Paso, and the kids who lived on the edge of his school forgotten and lonely. He always tried to reach out to them, but sometimes that's not enough.] But like I said, none of my business.

[A shrug] I'll try and remember for next time then. [Offers a hand] Jaime Reyes.
