This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. [Yet, he didn't vomit once. He often seemed perilously close to doing so, but never once during all his wheezing and belching did he find himself getting sick everywhere. After some time, and a few failed attempts, Natsu settles himself into a sitting position, panting and sweating like someone who had just run a marathon.]

[Lee gives a small bow at his waist that's very straight-laced and indicates his mistrust before he smoothly turns and walks away. Still, his temper is in check, he removes himself from the area before something happens that he may come to regret later.]

[Arcee can be found be found pouring over paperwork beneath one of the trees in the front courtyard. It's not a too terrible windy or cold day so she figured why not spend it outside. After pouring over a few more pages she sighs heavily and carefully put the papers back in her briefcase before settling back against the tree with her eyes closed.

She hasn't been back long and everything feels so strange. So much has changed in the past twenty years. So much so that it makes her feel old even if she doesn't look it. That's the amazing thing about stasis...]

[Merlin is sitting outside reading a book, it's a bit chilly but he's enjoying the coolness of the morning coupled with the warmth of the sun. The book he's reading is on herbal remedies, a gift from his old mentor and he looks really into it. Even though, he holds the book with one hand and in the other he balances- in midair- a small dragon figurine.]

[Eventually, a corner of the book catches on fire a bit and Merlin scrambles to put it out, dropping the dragon figure. He groans] Ugh, not again.

[Merlin comes on screen with a cheeky grin on his face] So [he waves his hand around a bit, and is that a British accent?] What do you do for fun around here in America? New York is different from any place I've ever lived.

[he leans a bit closer to the screen and his voice lowers as if he's going to tell a secret, he looks worried] How pro-mutant is it here?

[Merlin, who happens to be walking by, gets hit with said lighter because what is his luck.]

[He turns to look at her and tries to pretend he's not even just a little bit phased by her appearance.]

Uh, I can help with that if you want, or if you don't mind the fact I'd have to touch your cigarette and you don't know who I am or what I can really do or anything. Also the whole thing may just [he tries to mime bursting into flames]...

I do it the all-natural way myself - reach out into the ether and grab them using my mutation. And I've witnessed a bit of what powers being out of control can do, even though I imagine I don't have much experience, what with being young and all, like you said.

As for pro-mutant... it's better than a lot of places, as I understand it, even though it's far from perfect. It depends on where you are and how much you stand out, mostly.

Oh, no. [he waves his arms around] I can't afford any new clothes, besides I'm told I don't have any fashion sense I'd probably make a fool out of myself. [his hand goes to the scarf around his neck, he's been made fun of of because of it before, but he liked it, even if it wasn't "in fashion," whatever that meant.]

[Merlin's jaw drops a bit and he leans forward again] You're eyes change colours too? [he levitates the dragon figure next to his computer and his eyes flash gold as he does so before the figure drops and they go back to his normal blue] Is that normal?

[It was strange how something as simple as a back rub could make him feel better, but Natsu appreciated it nonetheless. Letting out a sigh of relief, Natsu turns his attention to his savior, visibly starting to look a lot better.]

Is this the Xavier Institute? The driver kicked me out when he noticed I got sick, so I never had the chance to ask.
