This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before applying, and to see if things "click". Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

The amount of property damage he caused trying to figure his mutation out still makes Beat's head spin.] What I meant was, you don't have to worry about not being good enough at it yet. [PCHOOO PCHOOO PCHOOO. He only uses one finger, but three small soundwaves fly like bullets towards the wall, accompanied by a series of pops.]

That's the real easy stuff, obviously. I can do other stuff with 'em too.

*She doesn't sound all that impressed.*

Okay, first, it's not air. It's sound. Sound vibrations.

And second, I can do way more than those little blips, I told you. Want to blow a guy's ears out? I can do that. Giant earthquake? I can do that too.

Well, my Dad was a scientist, so even though he disappeared years ago, Mom still wanted me to be exposed to a bit more science than usual to see if I liked it.

I don't know if she tried it with my brother or not, but if she did than it didn't last long before she gave up.
