you know what I'm sayin'?
This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before applying, and to see if things "click". Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

He shoved his hands into his pockets and pulled them inside out. Nothing but lint...

He seemed to almost smirk. "People who can't control their powers shouldn't be allowed out in public. You're just another example as to why."
no subject
"Fuck you! My powers are controlled but sometimes a sneeze sets them off."
no subject
"...as for 'sometimes'... sometimes a man trips while cleaning his gun and kills his children. You're not any more special then any other idiot refusing to accept responsibility for how dangerous they are."

"That's like comparing apples to oranges! My fire isn't even that dangerous, not unless I'm angry. I'm sure you damn expensive book is just fine, maybe only a little charred. Still readable!" What was wrong with this guy?! Did he want a fight?

"And when you get angry? What then?"
no subject
"Then if I let it out I could hurt someone. But I've learned to control that." Although he still hadn't controlled the fiery aura that would start to envelope his body when angered. While it didn't do anything but protect him and look intimidating it was still worrisome. And that's what was happening now.

"..animal." he grumbled under his breath, the first sign of anything other then annoyance in his tone.
no subject
"Whatever, you shouldn't read expensive books out where people might be passin' by anyway." He wasn't to blame for this. There was no way he was taking the blame for it.

"Think whatever you want. I'm done arguing with someone that can't even acknowledge that they might be wrong. I have more productive things I could be doing, like trying to break down a brick wall with my head."

"Damn I need to go to see the doc." He muttered and continued walking.
