This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

[3rd person prompt]

If there was one thing Orin liked to do, it was practice her Necroplasm abilities. All she'd have to do is find a nice open space, concentrate a bit of energy and reanimate something small, like a rat or something. And when she was bored, she could take the energy from a cat and make a zombie cat. Or better, make a zombie rat and zombie cat, and make the cat chase the rat. Or chase the rat herself...

And that's just what she was doing here. There was a zombie rat and cat, the cat chasing the rat. She's distracted watching them...

for now let's just say they're on friendly terms, we can work the specifics later >w<)b

Ah...Satori hadn't expected to find Orin around here, but there she was. Practicing again...she's a little jealous. It must be nice to enjoy your abilities that much.

She firmly puts that thought out of her mind. There's no reason to be upset around Orin, of all people. She gives a rare smile as she approaches Orin.

"Hey there."

Orin leaves the zombies to fight their battle and turns to Satori, giving her a wave and a grin. "Hey, Miss Satori! Whatcha out doing today?"

One of her ears twitched as the zombie rat scurried around her legs and then took off in another direction.

"I was heading to the library. I forgot about my math assignment...it's a little late, but there are probably at least a few procrastinators I can find inspiration from." By which she means, of course, she's fully intending on cheating off of anyone in the library she can find.

"Ah, more importantly, you're going to be careful with those, right?" She points at the cat. She personally isn't bothered by two dead animals running around, but she'd rather not see Orin get in trouble or get yelled at.

It's fine!

"Oh, homework really bites sometimes..." It doesn't help that Orin gets distracted so she ends up in the same boat as Satori.

"Of course! I'm not going to let them get too far." And of course, when the rat begins to get a little too far for her to reach, she grabs the energy from it and the dead cat and holds it in the palm of her hand before dissipating it. "I guess they almost did!"

Now that was something you didn't see everyday! Kisume was walking past, trying to find the ball that had been kicked away from her while she was playing. She wasn't paying attention when the path of the zombie cat and rat crossed her's. She squeals loudly and falls backwards on her rear.

As they ran away from her, she spotted Orin watching them. She picked herself back up and walked over, keeping an eye out for what had startled her before.

"Um...Excuse me..? Have you seen a ball around here Miss?"

Orin goes ahead and draws the energy back from the zombie rat and cat and tosses it aside. No use getting in trouble over something like this. Some people got too worked up over this kind of thing.

"A ball?" Her ears perked up. "I don't think I've seen one around here. Did you lose one?"

Kisume frowns a little bit and nods a bit. She was hoping it had gone this way. She shakes her head after a moment and smiles again, "What was that? That was really neat!"

She looks like she's forgotten about that ball. Yes, they startled her but they looked really interesting!

FRAAAAAND? Or not yet, up to you

There was that tall winged girl over there, again. Leaaaaaning over close to Orin's shoulder and not being at all subtle or sneaky about it. Utsuho and sneaky didn't tend to mix very well.

"Can you do a pigeon next?"

yesss fraaaaand. friend bff it doesn't matter to me~

"I gotta have a dead pigeon before I can reanimate it~." It should be common knowledge, really, but Orin didn't mind having to remind people of these kinds of things! Besides, she already knew who was behind her.

"Can ya find me a pigeon?"

Okuu needs reminders every now and then, it's true.

"Oh, oh, I can do that!

And off she goes in a rattle of feathers to disturb the wildlife.

She comes back about ten minutes later, holding a kind of squashed and very dead pigeon in her hands like a little kid with a present.

"Will this work?"

"Okuu, did you kill a pigeon? It would've been better to bring me an already dead one..." But no matter, she technically did what Orin asked. SO.

"Okay okay, fine, it'll work." She holds out her hands and concentrates on the energy of the recently deceased pigeon, and suddenly it stands back up, and begins flying around with its now soulless eyes.

"I didn't mean to, but I fell." ...good job, Okuu.

Once relieved of the pigeon, Utsuho leans over a bit to get a better look--then straightens up with an "aha!" noise as the bird starts to fly.

She refrains from clapping her hands like a trained seal, though. She wasn't a seal.

And, suddenly, chasing the cat was an especially large wolf spider. The giggle that immediately followed its appearance was probably a pretty good indicator of just where it had come from and what it was doing.

"Are we playing tag?"

The voice came from the highest incline Yamame could find to sit on, her legs dangling as she smiled down at Orin.

Orin makes friends with everyone okay. :3

Oh, that was actually kind of amusing. Now there were three little things running around. But of course...

"I was just practicing." She knew Yamame was around somewhere, and she looked up and around to find her.

Yamame waved when Orin caught sight of her, swinging her feet as she smiled. "Practicing is a lot more fun if you make a game out of it, though, right? Don't let me catch you, or you'll be 'it.'"
