This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

[ He's been at the Institute for while now -- around six months, at least long enough to have his feet. Currently, he's high in the branches of a tree on the grounds. It's a stance that'd be precarious for most other people, but he's crouched on a slim branch near the trunk of the tree.

Mostly obfuscated by leaves, he's waiting for someone - anyone - to pass below; he's got about a half dozen rotten apples to pelt down.


Sue him: he gets bored on weekends. :/ ]

[(Un)fortunately for Jet, the next person to come by is the blind girl with the chocolate lab. She's just far enough that Badger can't see Jet, but if they get close, he might just bark]

[ Oh come on, kid, how's he supposed to mess with a blind girl? He drops down a branch or two, sighing as he does. ]

You looking for something?

[ Called from high up still. ]

Nope, just walking. Why're you in the tree?

Just sitting.

[ Two can play at that game. ]

[ He's seen her around. ]

Yeah. Have we met before?

Nope.

[ But he hops down, landing on his feet and leaning back against the tree. He likes to keep tabs. ]

Who's the mutt?

Badger, my seeing eye dog.

[said dog is eying Tarzan over there]

[ Jet is unbothered. If anything, he seems vaguely curious. ]

I wanted a seeing eye tiger, but those are too expensive.

Thirteen years and counting. Only had the dog for about eight, though.
