This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

Margot drops to the floor (AND IF ANY OF THAT SINGED HER HAIR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY) and sweeps a leg out to try to knock him off his feet.]

[Wow, he saw that attack coming a mile away. So what does he do? He jumps over her sweep and then slams his feet down towards her. Enjoy size nine and a halves in your face.]

Actually, Margot doesn't and rolls out of the way.

Which she further makes asymmetrical just to be a dick.]

[That's totally fine, since he'll just send more balls of energy her way. Four, just like he did last time. Except instead of sending them all at once he sends them over two at a time.]

[Why is everyone at this school an asshole? Oh. Wait. She instigated this, never mind.

Up off the floor she goes, both paperclips in hand. And hey. More energy blasts. Awesome.

She dodges most of them, getting clipped by one (she's figuring out the pattern, okay.) That? HURTS.

Extra pissed now, she takes one of the paperclips, flicks it at Kid, and lights it on fire. With her brain. Paperclip fireball. It is her personal way of saying 'F U.']

[A fireball, eh? Easy enough to dodge. As it's launched at him, he sidesteps, the flames just barely singeing his hair. It seems he hasn't noticed just yet, but that'll definitely come up later. Right now, though, he's getting really tired of this. Perhaps it's time to go on the offensive. Taking his hands out of his pockets for the first time in the fight and donning a more serious expression, he rushes her, ducks down, then gives her a hard right uppercut.]

[Hitting a lady RUDE.

Margot takes the blow, twisting her head so it gets her on the cheek. At the same time, one hand goes up in an attempt to latch onto his wrist and pull him closer, a knee aimed for his gut.]

[Tch, she's no lady, according to Kid anyway.

The blow hits true, making him stagger back a few inches. But fine, you want to play hardball? He can play that way too.]

If you're going to manhandle me, at least grab both my hands!

[But that's fine, because now he's going to grab her wrist and headbutt her tits right in the stomach, using the force of the pull to add a bit more bang for his buck.]

But Kid is lucky she hasn't had lunch yet or she would have completely lost it all over him. He would have deserved it, though.

Still holding onto his wrist, she doubles over with a wheeze.]

Oh, sorry. Thought I was being gentle. Guess I outta turn up the heat.

[And with that warning, the entire arm of the wrist he's holding goes up in flames.]

[OH GOD, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU

Okay, that sure is one arm on fire. So what does he do? Back the fuck up and rip that sleeve, off, that's what do! Stomping it out, he of course rips the other sleeve to match! ...except he rips too much, thus ruining both his symmetry and his outfit. Good news? Fire's out. Bad news?

...Kid kind of passed out after bleeding from the nose thanks to a freak out.

[Putting the fire out on her jacket sleeve (another good one ruined,) she looks down at him in bewilderment.

Okay well that's one way to win a fight.

Nudging him with a toe to make sure he's still alive or something (she just wanted to poke him,) she pulls her phone out and goes to call Doctor McCoy.

Some infirmary time might be good, though she'd hate to explain any of this.]
