This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[From further away, the resemblence is striking. And even as he gets closer, it remains pretty remarkable despite the differences. Still, it's not her.

[But since she looks so lost and he's already here -- with those naturally quiet steps of his -- Toushirou figures he might as well say something.]

Is there something really fascinating about this?

[The tone in which the voice spoke to her, she felt as though she'd been rude for staring. A blush flew across her cheeks in an instant, and rather than hide it, she turned to voice the young man with an owlish blink.]

I...it...[She stammered out in a stupidly-loud volume.]...it's just so big!!

[... Even acts a lot like her. Wow, that doesn't make him feel homesick at all. Really.]

[He blinks at the volume. Huh.] You don't need to talk that loud, you know.

[Her voice instantly reduces to a low hiss, her hands quickly flying up to her mouth to catch her volume.] I'm sorry!

[She feels pretty silly now...gawking at what was more or less a giant topiary, and then subjecting this poor fellow to an outburst.]

[Great. Now she seems upset. Dealing with this is hard.

[He takes the natural edge to his tone down a bit; he hadn't been trying to scare her, anyway.] It's fine. I'm guessing you're new?

Yes--[She quickly catches herself.] I mean--! I just got in last week. [She weakly smiles, toying with a strand of her bangs sheepishly.] I guess I'm still a bit jet-lagged, so I'm reacting a little slower than usual...

[She's really not dumb! Honest!]

[Still jet-lagged after a week? Maybe if the trip had been far enough, he supposes. ~~And he's certainly not cutting her slack based on her resemblence to Momo. That's crazy.~~ And he'll hazard a guess based on her appearace:]

Japanese?

[Just as not-dumb as his own BFF, surely.]

Yes! [A small giggle accompanied Chizuru's reaction, grateful not to be mistaken for any other generic East Asian ethnicity. There wasn't much to differentiate her from Chinese or Korean, surely, but it was surprising to have someone guess correctly on the first try.]

I'm Chizuru Yukimura. I've come here from Tokyo, actually. [What about him? Bow? Handshake? She wasn't too sure which one to do in this situation.]

[Well, Japan is the most prominently represented East Asian country at the school, so it'd been a pretty safe guess. And there's of course this factor:]

Toushirou Hitsugaya. [Because he totally looks Japanese himself, right? With the white hair and the green eyes? Right. And whatever method of greeting she chooses, he'll go with it.]

[Well, that explains everything! --except for the odd coloring, but maybe it had something to do with his powers? She really wasn't in a place to judge.]

It's so nice to meet you! ...I think you're the...third Japanese person I've met so far.

[The colouring mostly comes from his mother's side -- she'd been American, blue-eyed blonde -- but at least some of it likely does come from his mutation. It's not anything he's ever really considered, though.]
