This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

O-oh!! [Chizuru just barely spots the girl pummeling in her direction, and outreaches her arms in instinct, hoping to catch her--or at the very least, break her fall once they collide?]

Ah, thank you... I'm terribly sorry; I wasn't looking where I was going! [Just going to try and right herself now, giving Chizuru an apologetic look.]

[Chizuru softly chuckled, looking down to the girl with a warm smile.] You needn't apologize! This is quite an easy place to get lost in, with all the twists and turns...

[She was still holding the girl, but once she was certain she didn't need the support, she softened her hold on her, allowing her to stand.] You're not hurt, I hope?

It is. Mother's mansion back home didn't have anything quite like this...

[She stands properly and shakes her head, smiling.] Not at all, thanks to you. Are you a new student here as well?

[She wasn't about to pry, but she's assuming, by the looks of things, she must be European...]

Ah, yes--I just arrived last week, actually...[She was about to bow, but quickly stopped herself, stiffly extending a hand to be shook. (That's what you're supposed to do in America, right?)] I'm Chizuru Yukimura.

[Marie accepts the handshake.] I'm Marie Beaumont, it's a pleasure to meet you! I arrived a couple days ago, myself.

[So polite..!]

If you don't mind my asking, where are you from?

[markedviolin]

I'm from France--Paris, to be specific! What about you?

[senbazuru]

[She'd guessed correctly! The tiny victory of Chizuru's made this encounter just a smidge more delightful than before..!]

I'm from Tokyo, actually.

[markedviolin]

I see! So we're both quite a ways from home, aren't we? What grade are you in, Chizuru?

[senbazuru]

It appears so! Are you adjusting ok?

[She begins to pull her pony-tail forward over her shoulder, straightening a few strands.] I'm in my third year of high school...as of this Spring, anyway. [She's not entirely sure if her school year translates the same here as it does in Japan...she can only hope she doesn't struggle with keeping up.]

Mhm! What about you?

Oh! Me too! Sort of. It's my terminale year, but school years in France start in autumn... so I'm finishing up...
