This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

A little hard to make out, but she could see her arm, lifting at least, and the hesitation in her body. Well, she'd discovered she had a talent for making newcomers feel at ease. So she stubbed the hand rolled cig out on the ashtray she kept up there for that purpose, removed her notebook, closed her eyes and passed her hand over it. Her small wings were instantly replaced by large, magnificent ones, the kind you'd see on a Rennaisance painting of Micheal.

She lifted off and made a somewhat clumsy flight over to her, before closing her eyes again so the wings vanished, dropping her to the grass.

"You new here?"

Chizuru's mouth gaped open widely as she stared in wonder over the wings that carried the woman down to the grassy lawn beneath them. Even with the occasional hiccup on the soar down, it was miraculous enough to make up for the lack of grace. "....."

The stranger's feet landed with minimal scuffing, and Chizuru's remained firmly planted as the woman arrived. "...y...yes, I arrived this week." Just in time for the spring semester, though...American school years were different, weren't they?

New kids, she decided, were adorable when they were all embarrassed and shy. Her natural, smaller wings still felt the effect of being connected to the large, fake ones, the tingling afterfeeling of flight they couldn't achieve on their own.

"Well i'm Reki. I'm one of the art teachers." Yes, like 'pebble'.

"There's more than one art teacher?" This place either must be enormous, or there was some sort of specialty in art here in addition to the...other things.

More likely Xavier found jobs for every adult mutant willing to work because he's a big softie that way. Aww. "Two normal art teachers and one teaching art history. It's a lot of liberal arts for what you'd consider a...'technical' school." Maybe Xavier also believed in the 'must be cultured' part of bushido too?
