This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[The video feed clicks on, and there's a young man, possibly in his early 20s, looking directly into it. His dark hair is shaggy, but very kempt, and his smile is subtle.]

Man, you go away for only a few years, and the place changes like crazy. I don't remember nearly this many students when I was attending.

It's good. The professor's got a lot to teach; I'm glad to see he's got so much to work with.

Still, considering how much of a pain me and the rest of us were, I'm kind of whelmed at the lack of chaos going on. You guys are behaving, huh?

[Smirk.]

[Action/Prose]

There was often someone using the Danger Room. After all, it was a good place to practice... well, pretty much anything, as long as you had the clearance. So anyone viewing, either from an open door or a control room viewscreen, shouldn't be surprised to see a simulation being run.

But when that simulation is a circus? That's a little odd.

It's stranger still when the circus isn't on fire, or under attack, or anything.

It's just a circus, with a simulated crowd and ringmaster. And above it all, on the trapeze, is Dick, swinging from one to the other, performing twists, spins, flips, and all sorts of physical feats that would make all but Nightcrawler's head spin.

In a way, it's as impressive as a mock fight with the Brotherhood.

As he performs a corkscrew twist, he spins down, away from the trapeze, straight for the net below. With a strange amount of grace, he bounces against the net, and flips forward, landing on the ground in a perfect stance. His breathing is heavy, but his grin isn't tired in the least.

... Again with the whelmed thing, Mr. Grayson?

What can I say? It's perfectly descriptive.

Let's hope you don't foster a new generation content to use eccentric vocabulary on their non-native speaking Literature teacher. It was bad enough with just you.
