This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[The video cuts onto a overly happy and smiling blonde. Who does not seem to care that her hair is a mess or the fact that the supervisor for the computer room is giving her such a glare right now.]

Guess who's back at school? Don't need ta clap or nothin', I missed bein' here so I had ta come back eventually! 'Sides, to many people ta bug and I want ta figure out more about my powers.

And ya all keep getting exciting this happenin' while I'm away. I'm stayin' put this time! Where is everyone anyways?

[Marisa had only been here long enough to drop her bag off in her new room before she was again outside and messing with things.

So she's out by the lake, her eyes closed with something glowing softly in between her outstretched hands. Anyone who knew her well had a idea of what she was doing. Anyone else would probably go bug the blonde which she really hoped would not happen. She wanted to make this work!]

[This moment of undoubtedly careful concentration is interrupted by Flandre stooping over and sticking her face over Marisa's shoulder.]

What is that there?

[Welp, there goes the concentration on that laser...Wait...CRAP! Marisa's eyes snap open and she throws the glowing ball quickly towards the center of the lake. It gets about halfway out there before exploding. The fact the teen looks startled enough over the explosion tells that she did not mean for that to happen.

Marisa takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself and shoves her hands into her pockets.]

Was practicin'....Tryin' not ta do what that just did.

Flandre probably squawked a little, too. A lot. Somewhere between.]

'Supposed ta be a laser..but I lost concentration. So it exploded ze. At least I got it away before it exploded on us.

[Although she's a bit disappointed that it did that..She's still smirking as if she meant to do that.]

Oh well..At least chrome dome won't get on my case for another school buildin' ta explode. Don't need him on my case my first day back. By the way, I'm Marisa.

[She gives a bit of a two fingered salute from the brim her hat]

[After a moment of her eyes being closed and a light purple star pops up in her hand. She's just going to mess with it as she talks.]

[Flandre just...focuses in on the star. Her head bobs when it bounces and tracks it from side to side as it moves.]

Is that going to explode too?

Not unless I want it to. These are easy.

[Tossing that star like it's a ball and completely unconcerned about any explosions.]

[Flandre almost sputters, wings folding to her back and almost out of sight.]

It'd be funny. I can do other things with this too, but makin' it explode is the fun thing.

What do you have against your eyebrows?

They are too blonde ya know? And just a bit bushy...

[She was serious for the first part and then trailed off, laughing at it.]

I'm jokin' anyways. I got nothin' against my eyebrows..Blew myself up a few times, not fun and not interested in another one thanks. If I can concentrate long enough, I can make a laser or if I wanna be simple, I can heat this up or make it a nightlight basically.
