This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

Not that telling Souji off ever does much to discourage his bad behavior, so Saitou's within an inch of just flipping him onto the ground instead, when another approach comes to mind.]

[ Jason's expression was half-bemused, half-self deprecating. 'The Professor' sounds overly vague to him because, well; aren't all the teachers Professor --? Whatever. He'd figure it out later. Jason took another drag of his cigarette, pleased that he wasn't about to get ratted out. ]

Is this your spot or somethin'? [ Jason stuck his cigarette in his mouth, the ash perilously close to falling off on him, and stood up in one smooth motion. ]

I can leave if you want. Don't wanna invade your turf. [ That made the corners of Jason's mouth twitch up in something like a smile, the edges lined with a little bit of wickedness as the cigarette still hung off his lips. ]

Such a nice library! My family ran a bookstore that specialized in imports, but the selection is still nothing compared to this school. Is there a literary club around here? Please tell me there's a literary club.

[So what do most new students do when they show up? Maybe explore the grounds or try and make friends... But instead of doing those things Kosuzu has raided the library and is now lounging in a common room. Never mind that those books seem to be in several languages, including the original French version of Le Petit Prince the young teen is currently reading. She certainly doesn't seem to.]

Unfortunately someone did, as Reki frequently liked to smoke near that spot. She blinked in surprise. However a year with the Morlocks had innoculated her against the more freakish looking mutations.

Well that explains why Sturluson never talks, thought the art teacher. Then she looked elsewhere, trying not to embarrass her too much. It was probably too late to pretend she hadn't noticed.

Done with cleaning, she replaced the helmet and sucked up the smoke into the collar. When she turned to head back uphill, she noticed that she was being watched, and that's when Celty froze.

Oh goodness.

She'll never quite get used to it being 'okay' to show herself like that. Not for a while at least. Celty raises her hand in a short wave.
