This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.
Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.
Garry | Ib | hello he's a teacher
Good morning, all of you! Or, at least, most of you. Hopefully I have some of you left!
Anyway; so as not to make those... er, gone have anything to make up when they... get back, we won't be doing anything of consequence for the next week! Or so. Something around there, possibly more, hopefully much less!
Today, I hope you don't mind bringing in a few blankets! I have quite a bit planned that I'm sure you all will like!
[action]
Before class - which is usually centered around painting and other forms of wet media - Garry can be found setting up his "big plans" for today; the tables and supplies now ring the room, and he's gotten as many pillows as he's been allowed to take all piled on the floor, with a projection screen hanging on one of the walls.
... Not only that, but one of the tables also seems to be lined with refreshments.
If you want to help a teacher out, feel free - he's still moving furniture and whatnot, after all!

... In other words, all the spare blankets from his and Apollo's room are folded up nicely and stacked in his arms when he walks through the door. Someone might want to take one or two of those off his hands, particularly the thicker ones... with as big of a stack Kirino has there, he... probably can't see over the top of it...

He'll take them over to the pillow pile then, stacking them nicely in the center for when other students arrive. "That's quite a lot! I hope you have one left on your bed!"
no subject
"I see why you said to bring blankets." Don't mind Kirino, he's just going to swipe a macaron off the refreshment table.

He pauses there, to nervously clear his throat.
"I seem to have spent the rest of my money on the refreshments and the movie. Do keep that a secret though, will you?"
no subject
"And I don't think anyone would mind, anyway." He chuckled.

Oh - he sits up straight then, moving to dig the movie out of his bag. "I think I should ask; this is one of the new movies you kids have all been dying to see, right? I want to make sure this is something extra fun."

Kirino looked at the case, expression lighting up a bit. "Yeah, it is! I haven't seen it myself, but I read some really good reviews for it." In the meantime, he just helps himself to another macaron.

"Honestly, I'm pretty sure nobody will complain. Especially since it gets us all out of doing classwork." And really, if they didn't like it, they could always just sleep. It was the perfect environment for it, after all. Lights dimmed, blankets and pillows...
no subject
"Right! Besides... it was either this or study hall, hmm?" Which isn't something he'd want to subject on his students; they could be doing something fun to keep their morale up, after all!

Kirino glanced over to the center of the room, tempted to get settled in, himself. He shifted his bag with his laptop, wondering where he could put it so that it was out of the way.

"There. Would this work?"

[Hopefully, he won't be too surprised if she comes in lugging beanbag chairs--]

[Not that she's decided what she's even going to do with them...]

[Hmm... It might create a bit of noise for the other students, but perhaps not if it's closer to his desk...]
... Alright! But only if you dye one for me, too. [♥]
