This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

"Damnit, don't run.." is all she manages to say through grit teeth as she books after him. Days like this is when she starts considering chaining him to her desk - at least then she can keep an eye on him!

And so she's bounding after him, armed with her ever trusty pipe (which has oddly not yet been confiscated), hoping - praying - he'll slow down enough for her to catch up. Because let's face it - he's way more fit than she'll ever be.

You'll probably need really really thick chains to keep him in once place Sabitsuki. He's like a constantly smiling Houdini.

But he does slow down a little bit to give her a chance to keep up. Irezumi knows that she probably can't keep up if he goes full tilt and as much as he doesn't want to be brained with a pipe, he also didn't want to make her sick again.

Sorry, but Irezumi slowing down means Sabitsuki speeding up - pushing herself just a tad over her limit so she can get close! But this also means overworking herself enough for some drawbacks - and she ends up tripping onto the carpet, effectively knocking the wind out of her and sending her into a small coughing fit.

Can she just lay there, curled up on her side like that? Is that a thing that's okay? Because after that she's pretty sure she wants to just lay there.

Oh crap! The minute that Irezumi heard his sister fall he spins around and makes his way back. Oh man, don't be a relapse or something, please don't be something he'd have to get the maid for...

"Sabitsuki?! You alright?"

Yeah... that doesn't fly with her. Even while she still coughs, she reaches out and hooks a hand around his ankle once he's close enough. There may be a little blood from how hard she'd been coughing but hell if that's going to stop her!

... Well, alright, so she's been essentially stopped. All she manages to really do is sit up a bit with that hand around her older brother's ankle and wheeze as she catches her breath again.

"I'm... fine. Fine."

"You're sure?" He knows his sister sometimes (okay, often) said she was fine when she wasn't. Irezumi wasn't stupid and he decided to bend down to check on her in favor of trying to get out of her grip.

Well - as soon as he's close enough then, she's grabbing that pipe again and giving it one mighty swing - or as mighty as she can manage - and letting it hit him square on the... well, hopefully the head, but it might have been his shoulder. And then she lets herself collapse, letting go of her brother in favor of rolling onto her back with the dumbest, proudest, most tired looking grin.

"Got you."

She might need to be carried back after that, but goddamn if she isn't proud of herself right now.

The pipe hits his shoulder and Irezumi grunts, far far to used to getting hit with the pipe, and sits down suddenly.

"That wasn't very nice Sabi."

You be proud of yourself later. Big brother looks annoyed right now.

"Yeah, well, I'm not... very nice." is the only answer he's going to get at that, since now she's too worn out to really do anything. You run way, way too fast for her, insane-onii-san.

Ah... but she remembered what this was all about. "Smile... don't you go hurting anyone I like, okay?"

You'd run fast too if someone was trying to beat you with a pipe. But that's not the issue here. The guy in question was and his relationship with Sabitsuki.

That, if Irezumi didn't like beating around the bush as often as he did.

"You're nicer than you think you are. And why would I?

She scoffs, before rolling back over so she can sit on her knees. Finally, she's starting to catch her breath again. "You're too overprotective..."

Not that it really explains what she means, but it's close.

"I'm not going to hurt anyone...."

He says that but with his usual grin in place - always always in place- it's hard to tell if Irezumi means it. That was always people's problems with him, not being able to tell if he's kidding or not.

And so Sabitsuki decides to stare him down a bit - she, out of everyone, knows this boy the best, and even then its hard to tell at times whether or not he's being serious...

"... If you do, I'll just have to do whatever you did, tenfold. If there's crocodiles involved, that means ten times the crocodiles."

He stares back but Irezumi has to look down after a bit. His mutation would kick in if he kept up eye contact and he didn't want it to trigger now.

"You make me sound like a cartoon super villain. I'm not dunking anyone into a pool full of crocodiles."

He just wanted to dunk them into normal water. More safe that way.

Another scoff, and she shakes her head - maybe, just maybe, smiling a tad.
"You're the closest thing to a cartoon super villain I know, Irezumi. Just keep it in mind, okay? Don't scare off my friends."

Because, you know, having friends is a whole new thing to her and all.

He knows it's a new thing which is why he sometimes gets Brotherly Bad News Vibes from people. He wanted to make sure they were good for your health.

"I'll try not to, but I'm a scary guy."

His tattoos did hide the scars underneath and ever though they just made it look his his tattoos were botched, they made him look scary as hell. The constant smiling probably didn't help.

... That's it. She's just going to lean forward and hug him, then. Because scary guy or not, this is still her older brother who cares about her; he's just being stupid for her benefit. Or something.

"Just remember to smile, okay? And no water torture."

Which gets a bop on the head. A normal one with a hand, not a pipe.

"Don't forget to smile, eh? Sure I can do that for you."

And he hugs her back. Yes it is stupidity for her benefit and he's aware that he can get annoying.

The bop causes him to giggle. There's....no promise on the water torture but he'll try and go easy on the guy. Maybe. In a few months. Or a year.
