This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[ Teaching isn't exactly Sebastian's calling, he's a researcher and that's what he wants to do so he's actually been a bad boy and let it slip that Melinda hasn't been handing in her assignments. Still, he doesn't actually want to fail the students and at this point he doesn't even have anything to pass her for so a little talk is in order. ]

Melinda, got a minute?

She ponders the likelihood of her managing to dodge under the other students and escaping into the hall but in the end it seems like too much trouble. So instead she stays back, preparing to smile and nod like a good girl. She raises an eyebrow at him in question, as if she has no idea of why he might want to talk to her. ]

[ He leans against the teacher's desk and folds his arms across his chest, giving her a contemplative look. She never says anything, and never hands her assignments in, so he suspects she doesn't actually like the subject all that much. Begs the question why she's taking it in the first place since it isn't actually mandatory. ]

You do know you could have chosen another class than this one, right?

Yes? [ She nods. This is one of her elective classes, and while there hadn't been that much to chose from this one had still been her choice. And it wasn't as if she regretted it either, following the clues and figuring out the meanings behind things could be fun as long as she could bring herself to pay attention. Maybe she should have handed in some of those assignments to show that she was interested. ]
