This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

Gajeel was still getting a feel for the school. That meant he’d be doing a lot of walking, but it didn’t bother him. He didn’t feel like sitting still. He was still feeling just a bit restless being here at this school. Restless, but not really on edge . Still, when he walked into the common room, and suddenly heard that warning, his reflexes were great enough that he could react.

He held out his hand only and caught the ball in his hand. Figures that the first bit of action he’d see here was almost getting hit by a baseball.

Oh good, someone who wasn't a complete slacker. While hitting people in the face was always funny to this sadist, it got kind of pathetic after a while. Still funny, but pathetic nevertheless. Like a turtle who couldn't right himself.

Once the ball was caught, Bad Girl smirked. She got herself off of the couch, picked up her bat, and sashayed over to Gajeel. "Oh my, I do believe we've got ourselves a badass in the vicinity."

Well, he wasn't trying to come off as badass or anything. He was just trying not to get hit by a ball. Not that he thought it would do much damage to him anyway. He just stared at her as she came over to him. He didn't seem amused in the slightest.

"And someone with a deathwish. Next time, I'm throwing the ball back at you."

Yep. Even from a few feet away, she could definitely tell there was a rather large stick lodged firmly up this guy's keister. That was fine with her, as these types tended to be especially fun to fuck with. "Is that supposed to be a threat? 'Cuz if so, you kinda suck at making them. I'd just catch the damn thing and possibly throw it back harder. It's not fucking rocket science, ya know."

"You can take it however the hell you want." He couldn't really be expected to be anything by pissy when someone hurls something at his face when he is just walking through an area. And he wasn't worried about how hard she might throw it back at him. She didn't look all that tough to him.

Considering how some girl actually asked her to throw another one rather happily and another kid shrugged it off, it's kind of hard to predict how people will act in this place. "'Kay, I'll just take it as a terrible threat."

Looks can be very deceiving...and it's not wise to underestimate someone who's batshit insane. Bad Girl is proof enough of that, if the dried blood on her bat is any indication. Gajeel would certainly get a good look at it, as she decides to circle around him while twirling her bat, not even bothering to hide the fact that she's looking him over as if to sum him up. "So, what. You a new student or some shit?"

Gajeel just stands there while she circles around him. He doesn't even have to see the blood to know it is there upon the bat, he is easily able to pick up the scent of it through the air. Gajeel also shows no signs of being worried. He'd seen and spilled his fair share of blood throughout his life.

"What does it matter? Does being one or the other change if you are going to attempt to bludgeon me with your little stick or not?"

"No, but it does mean I am fucking curious." she stops circling around him and just smirks, leaning her bat against her shoulder. This was getting exciting, it wasn't often someone started mouthing off to her in this school. She might actually like this little shithead...or hate him with a passion.

"Why? Are you looking for a fight, Shithead? Because if you are..." her bats taps against her shoulder idly. It seems she just can't stand still. "I'd be obliged to accept! Ever since I joined this place I've had to play nicey-nice, but goddamn. I would fucking jump at the chance to bash someone's head in if they were offering! I'm a Bad Girl, playing nice just isn't my thing."

“I don’t know. Beating the hell out of some Barbie in a frilly dress seems like it might get me bitched at.” Because yet, Gajeel is pretty sure that’s how it will go down. Then he’ll have to listen to the staff complain about how he’s not supposed to do that kind of shit or whatever. But really, though he said that stuff, he didn’t sound too worried or put off. It had been a good few months since he’d seen any real sort of combat.

Uh-oh...now you've gone and done it, Gajeel. Bad Girl's posture stiffens right up and her expression changes from a smirk to a scowl. She raises her bat from its position on her shoulder and extends her arm so that her "tiny stick" is pointed right at him.

"Oh-ho-ho! So, you think you can kick my ass?! That you're hot shit, is that it?" her head tilts forward as she says this, with her gray eyes now seeming a LOT more crazed. He won't even have enough time to answer as she shouts out this next part a mere seconds later. "I will personally show you how hard this 'Barbie' can kick your ass when I split your head open like a fucking melon! Now come at me, bitch!"
