[Apollo's never seen Jake's "cooking show", but he walks by someone holding filled ice cream cones and can't resist. Not that he tries to resist at all. Or ask. Or use his hands.

He leans over with his mouth open wide and lifts one of the cones out of Jake's arm, already starting to chew it as he straightens up. A confused look passes over his face.]

Hey, this isn't ice cream.

[Of course with the cone still in his mouth it's difficult to make out exactly what he's saying. He's still continuing to eat it though.]

If anything, Utena turned even more red at that.

"I think so. I don't know too much about it. That's one of the reasons i'm here. So you can make people scared of you?"

She gave him a crooked little smile back. It was always so weird coming down from the state her power put her in, when she was more archetype than girl. Everyone else here seemed so familiar and easy with theirs...

"A-Alright." She said, blushing a bit at his arm in hers. But then, she'd just saved a beautiful princess, and that was one of the things one did afterwards, right?

Of course everyone in the food court was looking at them, but Utena was none too concerned as she ordered one of those high protein smoothies ironically beloved of the dudebros they'd just run off.

People stared, but whatever--he was sure most of them, at least, hadn't seen the fight, but the rest were just your average freak-watchers. He'd set off every gaydar in a four-block radius since he was like, ten anyway, so why should he care if people thought he was a lesbian now?

He ordered something sugary--mixed berry whatever-it-was, as long as it was sweet! And it was, a glorious confection about a mile away from any semblance of actual healthiness. Perfect! Taking a seat near the sunglasses shop and a sip of his drink, he smiled up at Utena. "Oh, that? That was totally no big!" Imagining fake things were real was easy--his powers had the potential to get a lot more off the walls than that, and often did. When he wasn't just using them to mess with his clothes, that was.

Gajeel was still getting a feel for the school. That meant he’d be doing a lot of walking, but it didn’t bother him. He didn’t feel like sitting still. He was still feeling just a bit restless being here at this school. Restless, but not really on edge . Still, when he walked into the common room, and suddenly heard that warning, his reflexes were great enough that he could react.

He held out his hand only and caught the ball in his hand. Figures that the first bit of action he’d see here was almost getting hit by a baseball.

Meanwhile, Utena was completely unaware of any homophobia that might be around her if it wasn't explicitly pointed out, her eyes much more attuned to anti-mutant prejudice. She slid in across from him.

"So you can, like, turn things into other things?" She said, rubbing her shoulder where it had suffered impact. All that superhuman movement came at a price.

[You know, most people would would inform Feliks that he was making a complete ass of himself in front of an audience. Specifically, his soon-to-be teacher. However, Bad Girl is not most people. If her little Flicks wants to make an ass out of himself she's going to let him.

Actually, she's going to do one better. She's going to grab another beer, get comfortable, and watch this shit like it was the world series of baseball. Eventually though, it does start to get boring.]

Phew, that would have been a total bummer if she had to carry this kid to the nurse's station. Bad Girl puts a hand on her hip, plants her bat on the floor, and shifts her weight towards it. "When I tell you to think fast, you should try getting out of the way. Or ya could catch the damn thing. S'not like I give a fuck either way."

Kurloz simply continued to smile as he gave a little shrug. The boy looked utterly helpless really. Not that he was he just played that way because it often worked in his favour most of the time. In reality he probably could have easily swung to the side and dodged the ball or caught it but well...somehow probably got a laugh out of him getting hit. And a laugh could mean a friendship. Because friendships are the best thing ever. Even if Kurloz didn't actually care one way or the other about people.

Oh good, someone who wasn't a complete slacker. While hitting people in the face was always funny to this sadist, it got kind of pathetic after a while. Still funny, but pathetic nevertheless. Like a turtle who couldn't right himself.

Once the ball was caught, Bad Girl smirked. She got herself off of the couch, picked up her bat, and sashayed over to Gajeel. "Oh my, I do believe we've got ourselves a badass in the vicinity."

[ Hmm...what a curious decision to add to the network. Aradia isn't really sure if it's meant to strike up a conversation or if she's simply supposed to respond to it in kind. In either case, she decides to do both. ]

i wonder what happened to the person with the video camera?
it seems pretty unlikely that the cheetah just walked away
and also unlikely that the people in the van didnt do something about it
i guess we will never know!

[ She decides to simply respond in kind, continuing what is most obviously the narrative of the cheetah and the unfortunate people in the caravan. She's busy giggling as well, but much more vocally. She's not sure how long she'll be able to go simply communicating in pictures, but it's pretty enjoyable for now. ]

Which made Fai all the more inclined to make her blush again, because that was the vicious circle which was the workings of his mind. For now, though, he only smiled blithely.

"Well, you're not alone. Most people don't really know what they're doing when they arrive at the school. You'll work it out soon enough." His lips quirked slightly, eyes flashing gold for a second before returning to neutral blue. "And I can do that. Or I can make them admire me, be attracted to me, hate me... or just forget about me. But neither of those would have worked really well in that particular situation - or at least not as well as fear."

[Jake has a pretty good idea what Apollo's saying. No one's complaining about free food, but the experiment isn't flying nearly so well as he'd hoped. Oh well, most works of genius are only fully understood after their time anyhow.]

Nah, dude. That's a casserole. See, I just put it in the cones because I'd rather eat one-handed. Also, I figured if you bake it in little balls like that, you get more of the crunchy part. Hit me up next week, though. I'm making Korean red bean ice cream. Its a shame you can't eat it one-handed, though.

She found herself immediately liking him, the way he seemed to say everything in a singson, his unapologetic fabulousness.

Admire me, be attracted to me... That set something off though and she remembered. Dark fingers in her mind, slicing with a surgeon's skill. How much of what she'd thought and felt had been real then? Down that way lay difficulties Descartes had never dreamed of. She was somewhere else for that moment...

He tilted his head slightly in concern as she seemed to space out for a moment, hesitating slightly before venturing: "Ah, but you don't have to worry. I mostly have control over it, and I... if I do affect people, because I guess it happens, then it's not very strongly. I simply find it best to tell people from the beginning what I'm capable of, so that I don't risk coming off as if I'm hiding it."

People knowing sometimes made them uncomfortable in his presence, but it was nothing compared to what they felt if they found out later in their acquaintance with him. He would rather not have his friends second-guess every single moment spent with him, wondering how genuine their emotions truly had been.

She returned to the present, and so did her smile, though weaker. She hadn't meant to space out like that, but as her mind returned to functioning normally, those memories would bubble up.

i dont think theyre so outlandish
in fact setting goals for yourself is pretty admirable
i only set very realistic ones because theres no reason to worry about them i think
things like that should come naturally!

my resolutions were to make new friends and hopefully to make better grades

Those actually make sense, so it depends on the person, I guess.

I have relatives that like setting stupid ones, and then they complain that they'll never be able to actually do them. Or maybe they do it specifically so they can complain. It wouldn't really surprise me, knowing how a few of them are. I don't know for sure though and I don't actually care enough to try to find out.

[Apollo continues to eat the casserole cone without using his hands, tilting his head back to keep it moving into his mouth and giving his barely intelligible response as he does so.]

It ain't bad.

[The tip of the cone disappears into his mouth and he chews for a bit before wiping his mouth with the back of his hand and licking the food remains off of it.]

Bean ice cream doesn't sound like it'd be very good.
