This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. [Jimmy grew a little restless staying inside for extended periods of time, but the cool weather wasn't something he'd grown entirely used to yet. Still, a nice thermal pullover seemed to help him beat the cold back fairly easily. And now he could practice in comfort. He put some distance between him and the school before extending his claws.

He still had a bit of difficulty doing that as he was still getting used to them, but practicing with them was a must. He did it quite often, as was evident by all of the deep claw marks he left in the trees in the surrounding area.]

-The climate was an even more radical change for Hugo. The Karayan territory in East Africa was significantly warmer. The flora and fauna also exceptionally different. New York was like a whole new world for him. But at least in terms of temperature, he could relate to Jimmy.-

The trees seem angry with you. They've no give.

[The sudden voice caught Jimmy a little by surprise, he didn't expect to run into anyone in the woods in this sort of cold. But then again, he was out here himself. He looked over to the guy, figuring that anyone else in this area could only be a student too.]

They shouldn't be. The scars they have are just giving them character.

Trees have character without your help. Probably why they are angry with you right now. Perhaps you should try stone instead, ha ha!

-Hugo hopped his way over, quickly scaling one of the trees and getting a birds eye view of the situation. In spite of Jimmy's clawing at it, the tree hadn't lost any integrity.-

See? Defiant. Stronger than you or I.

[Jimmy watches the dude as he scales the tree. It didn't look like he had a difficult time with that.]

Yeah, I'll concede that it is tough, but it'll fall if I keep working at it.

That is the spirit, as they say here in America. -Hugo chuckled, hopping out of the tree with just as much ease. It didn't seem like a mutant ability. Just learned skill.-

Trying to get used to the cold.

This kind of cold is pretty rough, isn't it? Never used to get this bad back home.

[Jimmy is noticeably startled by the sudden voice out of nowhere. He looks over to him. He could've announced himself a little sooner.]

..Yeah. [He looks down at them.] Less blood than the first time I popped them too.

[Could've, but that takes the fun out of it.]

Won't be too long 'til ya stop seein' any blood. 's kinda like a piercing. Gotta keep the channels open.

Never stops hurtin', though.

[He relaxes his hands and lets the claws retract. He'd just have to get used to the pain of feeling his skin get pierced like that.]

I thought as much, but I can deal with it. A little pain never bothered me before, though.
