This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before applying, and to see if things "click". Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

Cecil Harvey | Final Fantasy IV

[Prose: Sitting in the hedge maze]

Cecil was one of those who liked to keep to himself. He had his reasons, and when asked he would always try to change the subject. Today, while others were enjoying the day, he had holed himself within the maze. He wasn't expecting to hide in there, as he didn't wander too far in. Rather, he just wanted to be outside and read a book.

The sound of footfalls catches his attention and he finishes his sentence before glancing up to see just who was walking in his direction.


[Action: Cafeteria]

[He was doing it again: brooding. Though should you decide to engage in conversation, he doesn't immediately withdraw. He seems almost shy, but he will engage in the discussion. Sort of.]

E-eh. Hello.

Hedge Maze

It was a pleasant enough day that a walk through the hedge maze seemed like a good idea. Or a walk through the first bit. Rosa had yet to get completely used to the place, and tended to actually get lost in it. But she'd never get familiar with it if she didn't try...

It was during this trying that she rounded a corner and, much to her surprise, came across Cecil. "Ah!" But it was a pleasant surprise, and her look of astonishment quickly faded into a smile.

"I didn't think I'd find you here. Is it my lucky day?"

Cecil blinked and immediately stood upon recognizing her face. He couldn't believe that he would see Rosa here. Soon enough though, a smile found its way to his face.

"Rosa...!" He wanted to rush over to hug her and never let go. Instead, he remained rooted to his spot.

Cafeteria

[Ky notices a new face in the cafeteria. The aura about him is confusing at best, but he sense a touch of darkness in it. Still, his curiosity gets the best of him as he walks up to the young man.]

Bonjour. Are you new to the school?

[notagirladin]

[Cecil offered what he thought was a convincing smile and a nod.]

I am.

[brotherhood_sword]

[Ky smiles back, thankful that the new boy was friendly.]

May I sit down?

[notagirladin]

[He simply nods.]

You may. I don't see why I should stop you.

[brotherhood_sword]

[Odd response, but Ky brushes it off. He sits down across from the slightly older boy.]

My name is Ky Kiske. I've been at the school since this past winter.

[notagirladin]

[His head bowed a bit, as if he were trying to focus on something else. Eventually he raised his head and nodded.]

I'm ... Cecil Harvey. It's nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you, as well.

[Ky glances down at his lunch.]

The food here is not as bad as I expected. Still, I am not used to their cooking techniques or dishes.
