This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before applying, and to see if things "click". Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. I can't. One slip up an' I could kill someone. [She'd been lucky when her powers first manifested that she only took out half her grandmother's house. She'd been even more lucky that her grandmother wasn't in that part of the house.]

[Lee's smile fell to a more thoughtful expression. It was very similar to how his brother must have felt when his powers erupted and was unable to hide it like Lee could.]

I'm sorry that you have to suffer like this. It's a very understandable distance and a substantial burden. I'm not speaking trivially on this.

[He steps off to the side to lean against the wall in thought.]

You're story isn't much different than a lot of students that arrive in this school. Many have lost loved ones to their power. Some have lost entire families and each one has overcome their inner challenges to save lives.

[But how many had killed themselves and then later woke up at their own funeral?

She gives a little smile and shakes her head.]

I am find around others in most situations but durin' a fight... If I get too caught up in it or lose control... I could end up doin' more damage than good even when tryin' t'help.

[Truthfully she is a little scared of her abilities. She's afraid of just how powerful she can be.]

[Lee lifts up his finger in an enthusiastic manner. He did read that part in her file but he's not going to mention it. He's been shot in the head once and woke up in the morgue naked and walked out without really thinking about it. That was a freaky moment in his life he could relate to.]

It sounds like you need to learn meditation!

Meditation? How's that gonna help?

[She tilts her head and raises a brow. She can't really see how mediation will help keep her from losing control during a fight.]

It's not an easy thing to explain. Every fighter does it, well, at least every good fighter does some sort of meditation. You see, meditation allows you to clear your mind and cleanse your spirit to remain calm. You can use it to focus on past events and learn from your mistakes to overcome your next challenge.

[He walks slowly as he talks about it in a very teacher-like manner.]

It's a method of focus. Martial artists use it to imagine what their opponents would do to predict their battles. It's a balance between peace and chaos, Ying and Yang. You can't have one without the other. Logan is a very good example.

[She listens closely, remaining focused on him the whole time.]

I guess anythin' is worth a try.

[As carefree as Lee seems to be, he's still a focused teacher. He smiles and nods.]

Excellent. We'll meet in the garden tomorrow morning one hour before school and again one hour after school. This way, we can reflect and I can teach you how to recharge your chi. Yes?
