This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

Kenzi let out a pained grunt and fell back in response to the kick. "...Fuck." Okay, she'd clearly underestimated the brat.

In a quick attempt to recover and buy herself some space she uprooted a nearby sapling and sent it at Ayaka.

I always have a plan. It's just not enacted yet. [Half bluff half 'yes I have a plan, no I don't know what it is yet but it'll be awesome'.]

"All right. Come on in, and have a seat. I'll get it out of the fridge." And Negi went over to the small fridge, pulling a wrapped plate out of it and a smaller one of cookies.

[There's a chuckle from Sou. He's not naive enough to believe it but he'll humor anyway.]

Okay. I'll take your word for it, Mr. Springfield.

[He tosses him a set of keys.

Just bring it back in one piece.

Ayaka wasn't quite expecting Kenzi to start launching vegetation at her, but with her honed reflexes she wasn't just going to take it to the face, either. However, the surprise is enough that it does kind of smack her right arm and scratch it up a bit when she attempted to dodge it.

"Hmph!"

With the sapling now behind her, she moved forward again toward Kenzi. If Kenzi cared to pay attention to the small damage she inflicted, the scratches on Ayaka's arm were already healing up.

Ayaka quickly composed herself and took a seat.

Under normal circumstances, you know as an innocent bystander watching the fight, she might have noticed. But nope. She was too busy getting her butt up into the air and out of the girl's reach.

"All y'gotta do is apologize!" she yelled down. Honestly it was more of a taunt because she wasn't expected Ayaka to apologize at this point.

"That's what you have to do!" Ayaka insisted.

She began to look around, searching for something else to throw; that didn't mean she wasn't keeping an eye on Kenzi, though.

"Yeah, they're good ones too. My sister sent them to me." Handing her the plate, he offered Ayaka a sandwich first as he took his own and took a bite of it.

"You'll have to let me try them, then," Ayaka decided.

It kind of came out more as a declaration than a question, but that's Ayaka for you.

She accepted the sandwich nonetheless, and took a bite out of it; making a brief odd face as she did. Even if what came out of the cafeteria was undoubtedly good, she wasn't really used to sandwiches.

"You're the one that started this bullshit. There isn't a damn thing I need to apologize for." Why was she still hanging around? She could have flown off already and waiting the whole thing out.

Instead there she was, lazily floating just out of Ayaka's reach.

"Oh you never answered my questions before! Have you ever wondered what it's like to fly?" Distraction tactic? Distraction tactic.

"Why would I? I was brought here in a plane."

Which was kind of a sore point for her. She didn't like being here that much.

Speaking of not liking things, it looked like Ayaka found a rock and was picking it up.

"And don't try to put the blame on me. You're the one that started it!"

[wisecracked]

"I didn't do shit. You ran into me and ended up cake all of your face, which by the way you still have quite a bit on you. And then immediately went into accusing me."

She had to roll her eyes at the rock, did she learn nothing after the plate?

"What about flying without a plane?"

Considering Negi wasn't much of a cook, it was at least a work in progress. He nodded at least and smiled before swallowing. "All right, we'll have the cookies after this."

Ayaka unconsciously wiped some cake off with her free hand.

"No, of course not, I-" she stopped as she realized what Kenzi was asking.

... the next instant, that rock was flying rather quickly up at Kenzi, aimed for her stomach this time. Maybe Kenzi just has a hard face, as the plate shattering just happened too quickly to tell what happened.

"Ah... yes..."

This sandwich didn't taste like a cafeteria sandwich, now that she thought about it...

Kenzi didn't bother with her shield this time, instead she stopped the rock and midair and let it float there. After a moment the rock started to do figure eights in the air.

"You what?"

That's cause it wasn't. And it wasn't Sanji's cooking either. "You okay?"

Ayaka's eyebrow twitched. Okay, projectiles were clearly out of the question. She slowly looked toward the building, trying to judge the distance-

No, she'd already tried that before. Running up walls like that was impossible and, even if she could pull that off, Kenzi would see it coming a mile away.

Well, there was one thing she could try. She began picking up more rocks. Maybe Kenzi had a limitation as to how many rocks she could move like that...

"This sandwich tastes terrible."

Ayaka held nothing back.

"Remind me to buy you lunch later..." Had to pay it back somehow, after all.
