This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

Kenzi was lost, this was not an uncommon occurrence as she was new and still didn't know her way around the school. She had wandered past the open doorway and was a few steps down the hall before she realized there had been someone in the classroom. So she backtracked and stopped in the doorway.

It was immediately clear this guy wasn't going to hear her. She frowned and focused on his headphones. He was sure to notice that they were suddenly floating away from his head.

[Souji can be seen reading under the winged statue. This is pretty normal... though if one looks closer they can see that his choice of materials is something... rather trashy. Like maybe this world's version of 50 Shades or something DON'T JUDGE HIM. He looks... rather focused on it]

He was used to new schools. So much so in fact that he was already looking comfortable walking around the grounds, greeting other transfers and new students even while pulling his own travel trunk along. He honestly wasn't too worried about his room- there was no real point getting too attached to it. He wasn't even sure if he'd unpack this time.

But eventually he has to sleep, so-

"Excuse me, can you tell me where the boy's dorm is?"

[In fact it was so normal, that Kankri didn't care. Hell he preferred to read his newspapers here. He was originally was just gonna wave at the kid, before he saw the title of the book.

He internally raged. And by eternally, I actually mean he went up to Souji and yanked the book out of his hand.]

You shouldn't pollute your mind with this, tripe. It's a terrible thing and you are definitely,to be foraging the muddy waters of complex sexual relations. Especially with how this book incorrectly tries to portrays them.

[Kankri, you don't even know how old that boy is. You just hate the book.]

[Blinkblink oh his book is gone. He looks up at the older boy in confusion, then smiles softly]

Ah, so you're into that lifestyle then?

[The smile helps calm his fevered tempers. Until the question was asked. It caught him off guard and he actually stumbles backwards in surprise.]

No! Of course not. I prefer to lead a chaste existence, if only to be able to better help advocate against the ills of society. Ills like those portrayed in the relationships of the characters in the book, for example.

I see. I assumed due to you knowing about the health or lack of it in this relationship that you must be educated about it, right?

When the sounds of Sting started fading away, that put him immediately on guard. He'd had bad experiences with powers like this. Kakyoin stood and looked at the newcomer.

Harmless looking, he supposed, but better to be a little suspicious.

"Can I help you?" There was no hostility in his tone; he wanted to test the waters, so to speak.

To be entirely honest, Mr. Kakyoin, most of what you're going to find in this part of New York is wealthy people doing wealthy things. Not so much culture as... well, anyways.

Where you'll REALLY find culture is the grandest cosmopolitan in the world. New York City. You should take a day trip out there, sometime!

No disrespect intended, but I figured out that for myself rather quickly, Ukitake-sensei.

I have found myself with a lot of free time and I've heard a lot about the museums and theatres. A weekend trip would be a good idea then, correct?

Kenzi smiled sheepishly and gave a little wave. "Um, hi. Sorry I wasn't sure how to get your attention short of throwing something at you."

She took a few steps into the room as she allowed his headphones to come back down. "I got a little lost and then well, I happened to see you in here and... What are you doing in here?" She looked around the room before spotting his watercolours. Oh well, that question just became pointless.

"Better that you don't throw things at strangers."

He relaxed a bit, sensing no ill intent from the girl. "This room has a great view. I like to draw people when they don't know I'm watching -- it leads to a more natural result."

[wisecracked]

She grinned and made her way over to the window, "Yeah, I thought so too."

She glanced at what he had been working on before looking back out the window. "So, like, do you have really good vision or something because I can tell you now there's no way I'd be able to paint shit from up here." Or paint at all but that was entirely beside the point.

We could make a class trip of it! Wouldn't that be exciting, eh? Visit the Museum of Natural History, the Gallery of the Arts, the Metropolitan Opera House, Central Park!

[hierophant_green]

"Not any better than normal people." That was the truth, he just had an eye for detail that most didn't.

He was vaguely annoyed by the intrusion, but there was no sense in being rude about it.

"Were you going anywhere in particular?"

[hierophant_green]

[It was almost cute to see him so excited like that.]

Ah, that would be a good idea. Even if some people wouldn't appreciate it...It's a good experience.

[wisecracked]

"Huh." For a few moments she appeared preoccupied with the window itself before looking back over at him. "Yeah I was trying to find my way to the observation tower but I'm thinking I might take an alternate route."

Exactly. And with that kind of attitude, you'll definitely have fun with it.

I do have an ulterior motive, I must admit. One of the galleries in the city has some of my father's photography on display. It'd be nice to see it.

"I haven't been here long myself, so I couldn't tell you which way it is."

Kakyoin went back to gazing out the window for a moment.

"Excuse me for being rude and not introducing myself. I'm Kakyoin Noriaki. And you are...?"

[wisecracked]

Kenzi frowned in disappointment. "Oh well, I guess I'll be taking the easy way then."

She began trying to work the window open.

"Trying to get this wi-- Oh you mean name. Kenzi." She stopped fighting with the window to smile at him. "Nice to meet you."

[hierophant_green]

"I don't think the window opens, if you're trying to do that," he said with a slight smile.

"It's a long way down, anyway. I take it you can handle the fall?"

[wisecracked]

"One of these windows has to open. I mean, isn't it like some kind of fire safety violation if they don't?" She moved to the next, one of them had to. Although she wasn't even seeing an locks yet.

"Who said anything about falling?"

[hierophant_green]

"They're still breakable, if there is a fire, even if they don't open," he said rather matter-of-factly.

"Handling the fall doesn't necessarily mean hitting the ground. You could miss the ground." Which would result in flight, of course.

[wisecracked]

She gave the windows a dirty look, like it's all their fault they don't open. She could just break them but she'd really rather avoid losing weekend privileges or whatever other punishment she'd end up saddled with.

"See gravity has to actually do anything before it's considered falling. Now if I just go in the opposite direction of the ground it's most certainly not falling anymore, is it?"

[hierophant_green]

"Don't break the windows, though. I don't want to be responsible for a bad decision." That usually got him in trouble, too, which he was not okay with.

"So you can fly, then?"
