This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the game opens, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info.

Kenzi stumbled back a few steps in result of the collision and nearly dropped her apple. Nearly because she managed to save it just before it hit the floor.

"How is this my fault?" She brought it back up to her mouth and took a bite out of it as she eyed the other girl. "Pretty sure it isn't." said with a mouthful of apple.

Maybe it was, in either case she really did care.

Ayaka had no logic to back up her case, but she didn't really care.

"Because... because of this!" Ayaka said, wiping some cake off her face for emphasis.

... for a second, it looked like she was going to eat the cake off her hand, but she just shook it off instead.

"And nothing happened to your food..." she noticed, "You did this on purpose, didn't you?!"

It made sense to her, anyway. Then again, she was clearly not thinking logically.

So, you're absolutely sure they're in Japan?

[Sou has cousins there too, along with England, the Philippines, Taiwan, China, and Germany. All of them are in the business in one way, shape or form.]

I thought you said that they were last seen in England. I'm getting lost.

For the most part, any cake sent in Kenzi's direction were stopped in midair before falling to the floor. However she couldn't catch it all and some of it splattered against her face and on her shirt.

Yup, not good.

She let out a baffled and irritated noise as she stared down at the cake on her shirt. "This! This is my favourite shirt!" She tossed her apple aside and proceeded to roll up her sleeves. "If you're going to blame me for something that isn't my fault I'm going to do something that you can blame me for."

What that something was she wasn't sure. Yet.

Ayaka knew a threat of violence when she saw one. Unfortunately for Kenzi, Ayaka was more than happy to engage in a fight with her at that moment.

"Well, this was one of my favorite shirts!" Ayaka snapped back, "Which, undoubtedly, was more expensive than yours and better made!"

There was no shirt sleeve rolling on her end, no...

... instead, Ayaka assumed what was clearly a practiced martial arts stance.

"Just checking," replied Negi, folding his arms. "You are a bit of a little tanuki after all."

Definitely not there. They might be somewhere. The last KNOWN location was Japan, and before that England, but nothing yet.

"A.... a tanuki...?" Ayaka's eyebrow twitched at that.

She'd been called quite a few things during her ... "work" back in Japan, but tanuki?

She didn't seem to know how to take that. She wasn't sure if it was an insult, or some weird way of calling her cute, or... what.

Kenzi rose a brow at the girl's stance. She wasn't going to fight she was just going to add more food to the other girl's face but well if she wanted a fight.

She smirked and lifted up a couple inches into the air. "Well, if it's a fight you want, you'll have to catch me first." With that she quickly floated back and around the counter, heading for the door to go outside.

"Yes, as in you're mischievous at times," remarked Negi, folding his arms. "But I suppose that's to be expected."

"Mischievous?" Ayaka frowned at that, "I think elegant, powerful, and beautiful suit me better."

Somebody clearly had a high opinion of herself...

"I suppose so," sighed Negi. "In any case, I should find out who replaced my cup after all."

Ah, now that makes more sense. You had me globetrotting mentally for a moment. Whew, I'm glad I wasn't losing my mind. So, with Japan in mind, I think you're on the hot trail. I just hope that it doesn't get cold on you.

Well, even if her theory based on arm-sleeve rolling had obviously been proven wrong, Ayaka still wanted some sort of compensation for the perceived slight against her.

"Coward!"

Ayaka started forward rather quickly, obviously intending to pursue. She was surprisingly fast, though not quite superhumanly so.

She still had her plate in hand, and she intended to use it as a projectile once she got a clear shot.

Well, since Negi more or less agreed with her assessment, she was pacified for the moment.

"Well, good luck with that, then."

She wasn't just going to help him find a cup out of the goodness of her heart, though.

[Sou lifted the book off the desk top and flipped the cover closed.]

Did it, done it, own it, bought the t-shirt on e-bay. I don't do plays anymore.

Kenzi's eyes widened at the girl's speed. Sure she was faster once off her feet but only barely so in such an enclosed area.

"No such thing as a coward! Just people smart enough to run away." She laughed as she slipped through the door. Once outside she remained close to the ground, she was actually pretty curious to see what the girl was going to do.

And hey, could she really get in trouble if she didn't dish out the first blow?

This... pointless question. Six times eight. What do I even need to know this for?

[That's right, this 16 year old spoiled brat doesn't know standard multiplication. Oddly, she doesn't talk like somebody who's lacking education...]

[Prose]
In the baseball field, Ayaka in a black karate gi can be found going through what appears to be some sort of kata. However, for those with an understanding of martial arts, it doesn't seem to fit any one particular style. More accurately, she's seamlessly transitioning from one style to another as she goes through the motions.

For once, the arrogant young lady seemed to be content. Physical activity was clearly something she was more comfortable with than learning math or history.

"Thanks. So what are you doing right now anyhow?" he inquired, moving to go get the cup and rinse it out.

Hopefully not. The clues left behind said they were headed to the States around a couple of years ago. So there's something.

"Hmph! At least you know when you're outmatched!" Ayaka shot back.

She slowed down as she burst through the doors. If Kenzi was going to up and admit that it was smart to run away, then Ayaka had to give her some slack, right? She had no reason to bully the weak.

"Very well, I'll acknowledge your weakness and not pursue you further if you apologize," she decided, "Be thankful for my generosity."

They would have been here by now, wouldn't they? They're not walking or swimming across oceans. Maybe you should hire a sniffer dog or a detective or something to find them.

"I was on my way to the cafeteria."

Her stomach growled at that, reminding her that perhaps she should get on with it. She seemed to scowl for a moment at that, since stomach growling didn't suit her at all!
