This is for anyone wanting to test out their characters in the setting before the applications open, see what clicks. Multiples will be allowed for this post, and you can generally assume any threads are a self-contained continuity unless you feel like getting creative.

Just post a thread with your CHARACTER NAME and CANON NAME in the title with a prompt and others will reply. Prompts and threads can be action spam or prose or whatever. These threads can be used on the sample section of your application, as well. Go out and have fun! Feel free to consult the institute tour and dorm guide for setting info. We also encourage you to check out the "!!event" tag on the IC comms to brush up on the story so far.

[He knows that look, and it's always with someone that's new around at the Institute. He doesn't know who she is, or where she might be from, but the sheer amazement at the grounds was something he could understand.

He himself explored all about when he first came here. Making a mental map of everything would always help to get one used to the place, or at least that was his own personal reasoning.]

[Considering Tokyo didn't have as many trees to hang out in as this place had, Souji had become rather fond of hanging out in them. That and they were the perfect place to hide himself from anything that could be annoying him. They were also perfect for hiding when he wanted to do surprise attacks, which was what he wanted to do right now.

So any innocent bystander.. or any innocent person who was passing the tree Souji was sitting in will get a surprise by Souji trying to jump upon their shoulders.. or Souji turning up upside down just in front of them.]

[Dick was rarely one for the maze. Mostly, it was too easy to figure out, even when he was young. It didn't even take any memorization to figure out, though that was probably to avoid anyone getting genuinely lost in it.

Still, it was a good place to go, if you needed some time to clear your head. The flowers that bloomed in some of the topiaries were calmingly fragrant, and nice to look at, to boot.

And, sometimes, one could find a good hiding spot. Though when one is already occupied, it's usually best to leave it be.]

It takes him by surprise, certainly, and there's a loud oof - and isn't it lucky that Saitou's actually strong enough to stay upright instead of toppling over and leaving them both on the ground? But he recovers from his moment of surprise quickly enough.

[Dick gave him a shrug, not really reacting to what appeared to be recognition. If he knew who Jason was, he wasn't showing it. Instead, he nodded, eyes falling to the cigarette.]

You know, the professor's not a big fan of smoking on the grounds.
